Edith Maxine Runnels Harris, 78, of Kilbourne, Louisiana passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at West Carroll Care Center in Oak Grove, Louisiana. Maxine was born November 7, 1938 to the late H.C. and Roxy Sweeden Runnels in Indian Switch, Arkansas. Maxine was a Methodist and an Eastern Star. She loved to work in her yard tending to her beautiful flowers. She had a joy for living life and taking care of her family. She was a loving, caring mother and wife to her husband and children.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Howard “Skeeter” Harris, a brother, Charles A. Runnels, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Maxine is survived by her son, Toney Harris and his girlfriend, Terry Hunnicutt of Kilbourne, Louisiana; a daughter, Tonya Yvette Harris Carson and her husband, Larry of Oak Grove, Louisiana; a brother, Tommy Runnels and his wife, Lynn of Bella Vista, Arkansas; a sister, Louise Fryer of Eudora, Arkansas, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of friends and family who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be at Bishop-King Funeral Home in Lake Village, Arkansas on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 10am with funeral services following at 11am. Burial will follow in Kilbourne Cemetery in Kilbourne, Louisiana under the direction of Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village, Arkansas.
