Obituary of Homer May
Homer Lamar “Buddy” May, 75, of Lake Village, Arkansas passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 at VA Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. Buddy was born December 3, 1941 in Lake Village, Arkansas to the late Homer L. May and Marie Pharr May Hopper. Buddy served his country in the United States Army and retired after his numerous years of service. Buddy was the recipient of many awards including: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, two Purple Hearts w/OLC, Bronze Star Medal, OS Bars (3), RVN Cross of Gallantry w/Palm, Good Conduct Medal (5th Award), Army Commendation Medal, and Korea Defense Service Medal. Buddy was a member of the VFW.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, a step-father, Ervin Hopper, and two sisters, Dimple Cooler and June Wright.
Buddy is survived by his son, Lamar (Dawn) May of Houston, Texas; a brother, Ronnie (Sherrie) May of Oscar, Louisiana; three sisters, Mary Carolyn Springer of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Martha (Charles) Turner of Sheridan, Arkansas, and Janie (Tim) Sampolesi of Lake Village, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Roxanna, Rebecca and Babak Roozbeh, and host of nieces, nephews, and friends that will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 pm Monday, September 4, 2017 with funeral services following at 2pm at Bishop-King Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Village, Arkansas with Reed Breedlove officiating.
Since 1993 we’ve been providing dignified service to families in Lake Village, Eudora, Dermott and all of Chicot County, Arkansas.
