Jalna Jale Mazzanti, age 84, of Lake Village died Sunday, July 28, 2019 in Jackson, MS. Jalna was born October 4, 1934 in Dermott, Arkansas to the late James Howard Turner and the late Helen M. (Simpson) Turner. She married Francis Baldie Mazzanti on June 26, 1958 at Lake Village, Arkansas. She received her bachelor's degree in education at Arkansas State Teachers College (UCA). She also received her master's degree in education in 1977. Jalna also worked in administration at Lakeside School District for many years before retiring. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Francis Baldie Mazzanti, one daughter, Angela Marie Mazzanti of Greenville, MS and two sons, Jeffry Turner Mazzanti and wife, Megan of New Orleans, LA and Francis Baldie Mazzanti and wife, Samantha Hulme of New Orleans, LA, five grandchildren, Candace Ashley Walker, Kayla Mazzanti, Heath Mazzanti, Hudson Mazzanti, and Turner Mazzanti; two great-grandchildren, Peyton Walker, Morgan Mazzanti and a host of friends and other family. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 31 from 9:00am-10:00am with Funeral following at 10:00am at Lake Village Baptist Church in Lake Village, Arkansas with Pastor Tim Chennault officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Innocents Cemetery on Stuart Island in Lake Village. Arrangements are by Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village, Arkansas.
