Velma Lee Wallace, 82, of Lake Village died Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, AR. Velma was born October 29, 1936 in Harrisburg, Arkansas. She is the daughter of the late Elvin Lloyd and Nettie Stricklin Henderson. She was married to Charles "Chalk" Wallace for 46 years. She was a paraprofessional and cheerleading coach for Lakeside School District for many years. She was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. Velma was known for her divinity, which was sold all over Arkansas, as well as her other Christmas candy.
Velma is proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Johnnie, Eugene, and Bob Henderson, and one sister, Lela Wright.
She is survived by two sons, Chuck Wallace of Lake Village, AR, and Tony Wallace (Carol), of Conway. One daughter, Savanna Smith (Patrick) of Little Rock. Two granddaughters, Ashley Simpson (EJ), Megan Reaves (Nathan), one grandson Mark Wallace, four great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Barrett Simpson, Ellie Wallace, and Kyleigh Reaves, as well as a host of family and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be Friday September 13, 2019, at 2pm, at Lakeside United Methodist Church in Lake Village with visitation following funeral services until 4pm. A private burial will be at 11am Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Bolivar Cemetery in Harrisburg, Arkansas under the direction of Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village of Lake Village, Arkansas.
