Obituary of Elbert Wiley

Elbert “Kookie” Wiley Jr., age 70, of Lake Village died Sunday, September 15, 2019 in Lake Village.  Kookie was born September 29, 1948 in Lake Village, AR. He is the son of the late Elbert Wiley Sr. and the late Eliza Harris.


Elbert attended School at Central and graduated in 1966 and gave his life to Christ on October 5, 1997. Elbert lived in Lake Village and worked various jobs doing construction, and driving 18 wheeler trucks.


He is preceded in death by; 5 brothers, Vesco Walker, Emmett Wiley, Larry Wiley, Gregory Wiley and Fredrick Wiley.


Elbert is survived by; 5 sons; Patrick Cain (Debra) of Chicago, IL, Maurice McWilliams of Chicago, IL, Vincent Jordan of California, Elbert Wiley III of Texas, and Elbert Wiley IV of Lake Village; 5 daughters, Ronicia Webb (Sederick) of Lake Village, Pamala Harkless (Burkley) of Louisville, Texas, Yaisa Wiley Goodwin of Newport News, Virginia, Kizzy Phillips of Lake Village, and Crystal Jackson of Lake Village; 4 brothers, Lloyd Cox (Grady) , of Natick, MA; Wardell (Mary) Wiley,  James Wiley and Ralph Wiley all of Little Rock, AR; 7 Sisters, Angellette White and Shirley (Garland) Trotter of Chicago, IL, Dorothy Walker of Arlington, TX, Christine Rainey of Dumas, AR, Claudia Griffin of Little Rock, AR; Delorse (Travis)  Dixon and Jean Wiley both of Lake Village, AR; A special friend,     Patricia Ray of Winchester, AR; 29 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other family.


A Home Going Celebration will be 10:30 am on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Lake Village, Arkansas.  Burial will follow in Little Greenland Cemetery on Lakehall road in Lake Village, Arkansas. Arrangements are entrusted to Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village, Arkansas.
