Obituary of Samuel David Harris
Samuel David Harris, II, age 91, of Eudora, AR, died Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Carroll Nursing Home of Oak Grove, LA. Samuel was born on April 28, 1928, in Eudora, AR. He is the son of the late Samuel David and Carrie Beatrice (Adcock) Harris. He worked with his father at the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company of Eudora, AR, for many years. He was a graduate of Eudora High School. He worked for Massey Ferguson and Dewitt Auction CO. He then went out on his own selling used equipment all around the area and he loved hunting and playing dominoes with many of his friends at his camp. Later in life, he was able to develop a relationship with his children. He was loved and will be missed.
Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Marguerite Hendrix and husband Lavelle of Cleveland, MS, Anna Faye Barkley and husband Jim of Houston, TX, Betty Pickett and husband John of Ball, LA, and one great-grandson Kyle Ray Weeks of Kilbourne, LA.
He is survived by his six children, Samuel David Harris and wife Bree of Royal, AR, Kathryn Knight and husband Roger of Eudora, AR, Sandy Hagood and husband Bobby Joe of Eudora, AR, Rodger Harris and wife Rebecca of Waco, KY, Michael Harris and wife Connie of Oak Grove, LA, and Mary Weatherly and husband Phillip of Wilmot, AR, fourteen (14) grandchildren, twenty-four (24) great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 10, 2019, from 12-1 pm. The funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm in the Bishop-King Funeral Home Chapel, in Lake Village, AR with Heath Harris officiating. A private family burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Monticello.
