Obituary of Dillon Eugene Martar

Dillon Eugene “Gene” Martar, age 85, of Kilbourne, LA died Thursday, April 16, 2020, at his home in Kilbourne, LA. Dillon was born October 29, 1934 in Monticello, Arkansas to the late John Wesley Martar Sr. & Bessie Mae Nolan Martar. He was a member of the Indian Switch Assembly of God Church in Eudora, AR. Gene was an avid hunter and fisherman. Gene was a Pipefitter and welder for 35plus years before retiring and becoming the handyman for Kilbourne residents. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons, Richard and Byron Martar; 6 brothers; R.L., Hewie, John, Carl, Thomas, and Joe Martar and one sister, Marteel Sammons. He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Vaunda Jean (Pack) Martar of Kilbourne, LA; two daughters, Rhonda Posey and husband John of Kilbourne, LA, and Carla Martar of Greenville, MS; one brother, Bill Martar of Eudora, AR; one sister, Elizabeth “Liz” Smith of Kilbourne, LA; six grandchildren, Dwan, Aaron, Adrian, Jacob, Seth, and Christopher; 7 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews friends and other family.
