Obituary of Eloise Sharp Johnson

Eloise L. Johnson, age 85, affectionately known as “Momma Loise” of Lake Village began her journey towards her new life on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. Momma Loise was born on September 17, 1934, in Bastrop, LA to the late Leedell Sharp and the late Burnell Fisher Sharp. She was raised and reared in Lake Village, Arkansas where she attended New Hope Missionary Baptist Church for 80 years. She joined the church at an early age and walked faithfully with Christ. She served as a choir member at her Church, and was a member of the Lake Village Community Choir for over 60 years. Later, she joined Central Community Church where she was appointed as a Mother of the church where she served faithfully until her health no longer allowed. She continued to sing and minster with family and friends until her homegoing. Momma Loise attended Central Elementary School in Lake Village, AR where she met and eventually married Jessie Jones and to this union, one child was born, Carolyn J. Sullivan. She later met and Married T.J. Johnson and to this union one child was born, Linda J. Walker. She was a homemaker for many years and later became a small business owner of T.J.’s hot tamales. She loved fishing, cooking, singing, and spending time with her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Thomas James “T.J.” Johnson who passed away on May 17, 2015; one son, T.J. Johnson Jr.; three brothers, Melvin, Harry, and Casusey Dell Sharp; two sisters, Cedensell Sharp and Marsha Gavin; and a son-in-law, Gabriel Carter. She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn J. Sullivan, and Linda Johnson (Wardell) Walker both of Lake Village, and Kera Johnson Carter of Bryant, AR; two sons, Rodney Tremaine Johnson of Houston, TX and Omar Smith of Little Rock, AR; two sisters, Jo Ethel Floyd and Dorothy Sharp both of Los Angeles, Ca.; three bonus daughters; Mary Sue Onunkun, of Arlington, TX, Angela White of Los Angeles, CA, and Mattie Akins of Pine Bluff; one daughter-in-law, Joyce Johnson of Flint, MI; 21 grandchildren, DonYe' (Kesha) Sullivan of Los Angeles, CA, Ronicia (Sedrick) Webb of Lake Village; Eryn and Eriel Carter both of Bryant, AR; 30 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren, two god-children, Juanita Singleton and Larry McJoy; two special sons, Ceasar Paul King, and Aundray Cowians; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 12th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Bishop-King Funeral Home, 1831 S Highway 65 & 82, Lake Village, AR. Celebration of Life services will be held on Sunday, September 13th, at 1:00 p.m. at Central Community Church, 402 Annex Street in Lake Village, AR with interment following in New Cemetery with repast following at Central Community Church in Lake Village, Arkansas. Service entrusted to at Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village, Arkansas.
