Obituary of Isaac Clinton Cope

Isaac Clinton Cope, age 83, of Lake Village, died Saturday, December 26, 2020, at Medical Center Of South Arkansas of El Dorado, Arkansas. Isaac was born November 18, 1937, in Rogersville, TN to the late Eugene Herman Cope and the late Julia Mae (Price) Cope. He was a loving husband of 61 years to Dorothy Jean (Burns) Cope. He served in the Air Force for 21 years as an aircraft mechanic, serving in the Vietnam War during that time. Twelve of those years, he worked on the F-4 Phantom. After serving his country, he worked for the Santa Fe Railway until his retirement as a locomotive machinist. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Jean (Burns) Cope of Lake Village, Arkansas; one son, Isaac Clinton Cope Jr. and his wife Robin Weldon Cope of Fort Worth, TX; one daughter Julie Gaddis and her husband Terry Gaddis of Decatur, TX; two brothers, Richard Cope and his wife Betty Cope of Fort Walton Beach, FL, and Eugene Cope Jr and his wife Betty Cope of Knoxville, TN; two sisters, Phyllis Whitt and her husband Ronnie Whitt of Knoxville, TN, and Wanda Sherrod and her husband Gene Sherrod of Knoxville, TN; three grandchildren; Clinton Cope, Candice Enos, and Ryan Enos and his wife Susie Enos; three great-grandchildren, Emily Oxford, Kaylyn Enos, and Trevor Enos; one grand-niece, Mallory Weldon; dear friends Ferrell and Maria, Ted and Mary; sweet baby Maggie; and his cherished 1964 Corvair. Preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Julian, and one brother-in-law, Jerry Julian. Private walkthrough visitation will be held at Bishop-King Funeral Home Thursday, December 31, 2020, from 5-7 pm. Public Graveside service will be held at Lake Village Cemetery, Lake Village, Arkansas on Friday, January 1, 2021, at 1:00 pm. Arrangements are by Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village, Arkansas.
