Virgil Utah Smith August 15, 1937 – May 25, 2021 Our Daddy was made whole when Jesus called him home to be with Mama whom he has missed so much. Daddy worked hard his whole life, often working two jobs. He was a letter carrier for the Eudora Post office for 32 years, walking the same route all those years. There were several Christmas mornings when he would go and check to see if any last-minute packages had arrived for someone on his route. He also worked for several of the local farmers in the area, which was probably the job he liked best. He was a reserved, quiet, soft-spoken man who showed his love and affection for his family more with actions than words. He was born on August 15, 1937, to William and Lorene Smith in Alpin, Arkansas, the 4th of 7 boys and 1 daughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty whom he has missed so very much.
