Rosie Lee Gaston was born August 25, 1938, to the late Albert Gaston, Sr., and Mary Weatherspoon at Redleaf, Arkansas. She departed this life on January 20, 2022, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Rose attended Central School in Lake Village, AR. Rosie confessed hope in Christ and was baptized at an early age. She united with Jerusalem M.B. Church where she remained a faithful member until she moved to Chicago. Rosie Lee worked at the Chicago Cubs Wrigley’s Field as a cook from 1987 to 2002 when she moved back to Lake Village, AR. When Rosie Lee moved back to Lake Village, AR, she reunited with Jerusalem M.B. Church where she served as an Usher and later, as a Mother of the Church until her departure from this side of life. Rosie took pride in spending time with her family, but what she enjoyed most was reading her Bible and serving the Lord. Rosie Lee is preceded in death by her parents Albert Gaston, Sr., and Mary Weatherspoon, four (4) sisters: Helen Gaston, JoAnn Brown, Gloria Stine-Gaston, and Bernadine Gaston; six (6) brothers: Johnny Lee Akins, Tommy Gaston, Larry Gaston, Jerry Gaston, Charlie Gaston, and Willie Gaston. She leaves to cherish her lasting memory, one (1) daughter, Ethel Hightower of Lake Village, AR; Nine (9) sisters: Dorothy Ann Akins, Mary Jean Akins, Natalie Akins, Mary Lee Coleman, Doris Gaston-Roper, all of Chicago, IL, Bertha Gaston, Patricia Gaston, Bobbie Gaston, all of Eudora, AR, and Vergelen Gaston of Oklahoma City, OK; four (4) brothers: Ross Akins, Andy Akins, both of Chicago, IL, Albert Gaston, Jr. of Paris, TN, and James Gaston of Eudora, AR; four (4) grandchildren: Cynthia, Dominique, Anthony, and Jerome; Nine (9) great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a very special friend, Lucille Johnson.
