
Obituary of William Paul Cochran
William Paul Cochran, age 72, a lifelong resident of Portland, died on June 10, 2022, in Little Rock. He was born on December 4, 1949, to his parents, Earl and Maxine Gary Cochran. Paul was a Portland United Methodist Church member, where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He was a Vietnam Veteran, and graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture and worked as a farmer.
Paul was an avid Arkansas Razorbacks fan and attended nearly every game. He loved cooking, traveling, especially to New Orleans, sailing flying his airplane, and was a member of the Little Rock Ski Club, where he enjoyed snow and water skiing. Paul loved spending time with his family and playing with great-grandnieces, he also loved animals.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gary Cochran; and one uncle, Bill Cochran.
Paul is survived by three nieces, Denise Cochran of White Hall, AR, Amy Jolly and husband, Robert, of New Orleans, LA, and Haley Cochran and husband, Steven Thomas, of Haymarket, VA; one sister-in-law, Patricia Cochran of Portland, AR; three nieces; two grand nephews; and two great-grand nieces.
A visitation will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Bishop-King Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Portland United Methodist Church with burial following at Portland Cemetery. Arrangements are made by Bishop-King Funeral Home.
