Obituary of Kenneth C Shelton

Kenneth C. Shelton, 91, of Lake Village died August 29, 2022, at the Lake Village Rehab and Care Center. He was born on September 7, 1930, to his parents Noel Shelton and Rosie Brun. He served in the United States Army and later worked at the Pylat Cotton Gin, Federal Compress, and the Lakeside School District as a maintenance man for 15 years. Kenneth was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Eudora. He enjoyed rabbit hunting and was an avid handyman. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frances Smith Shelton; twin brother, Pat Shelton; one brothers, Bill Shelton; and four sisters, Josephine McCullough, Margie Hopkins, Irene Gray, and Flora Haley. Kenneth is survived by one daughter, Sherry Vaught, and husband Jay, of Lake Village, AR; one son, Kenneth Bruce Shelton, and wife Mitzi, of West Monroe, LA; four grandchildren, Candice Demoss, and husband Preston, of West Monroe, LA, Kenneth Ross Shelton, and wife Rayne, of West Monroe, LA, Rebecca and Sarah Vaught, both of Lake Village, AR; and five great-grandchildren, Lane, Sawyer, Elee, and twins Kenneth Brooks and Mabri. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 31, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Bishop-King Funeral Home. A graveside service will be Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 10:30 am at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Eudora, AR with Bro. Phillip Payne officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjudes.org or UAMS Cancer Institute at www.cancer.uams.edu
