Obituary of Louisa Shackleford Thompson

Louisa Shackleford Thompson, 91, of Lake Village passed away peacefully, Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at St. Vincent Medical Center, in Little Rock. She was born on July 17, 1931, to her parents Roosevelt and Elizabeth Shackleford. She was an excellent seamstress for most of her life, she worked at Mansour Department store for 25 years. She was a faithful member of Woodson Temple Baptist Church. She was a youth director and sang in the senior choir until her health began to decline. She loved gardening, working in her flower bed, cooking, sewing, and being around people. She is preceded in death by her parents Roosevelt and Elizabeth Shackleford; her husband, Mobery Thompson; one son, Mobery Thompson JR; and one sister, Lily Mae Johnson. Louisa is survived by two daughters, Marchelle Thompson (Alvin) of Lake Village, AR, and Delena (Kenny) Carite of Indianapolis, IN; one bonus son Andre Smiley (Rose) of Pine Bluff, AR; one sister Charlene McBride, of Brinkley, AR; two granddaughters, Jasmine Lucas of Dallas, TX, and Morgan Carite of Scottsdale, AZ; two grandsons Alez Carite of Mountain View, CA, and Andre Smiley Jr. of Pine Bluff, AR; and a host of nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held at Woodson Temple Baptist Church on Saturday, October 15th at 11:00 AM, with burial following at Woodson Temple Cemetery.
